Steve Casebolt and his #c9 Dirt Late Model team released
their preliminary plans for the 2012 racing season earlier
today. For the first time in several years, Steve does
not plan to head south to compete in "Speedweeks"
during February in the Sunshine State of Florida. Instead,
the Richmond, Indiana native is tentatively set to kick-off
his '12 campaign on Saturday night, April 14 at the
famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Steve plans
to enter all of the Dirt Late Model races throughout
the year at the "Big E," along with other
high-paying shows throughout the Midwest. Additional

OCTOBER
24, 2011
The
Steve Casebolt Racing team wrapped up their version
of the 2011 racing season on Saturday night, October
22 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky.
The unsanctioned 'Fall 50' took place on Saturday and
Steve Casebolt was gunning for his second straight race
title. After starting seventh in his heat race, Steve
advanced past three competitors to finish fourth in
his prelim. By virtue of the passing points format,
Steve earned the thirteenth starting spot in the $5,000
to win 'Fall 50.' The Richmond, Indiana native was hovering
around the top ten in the 50-lapper before heading into
the infield to get a different tire. When he returned
to the 1/2-mile speedplant, Steve was unfortunately
collected in a wreck and later retired in the fifteenth
position. Full results from the season finale for the
#c9 team can be located by clicking on www.florencespeedway.com.

17, 2011
Steve
Casebolt and his #c9 team closed out the 2011 version
of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule on
October 14-15 at the newly renamed Atomic Speedway in
Alma, Ohio. The 31st Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship'
drew a healthy ninety competitors to the south-central
Ohio facility, all of whom were gunning for the $50,000
top prize. Due to persistent rain showers on Friday
night, the entire program was condensed into a one-day
show starting Saturday afternoon.
Steve laid down the sixth fastest lap in his group
during LOLMDS qualifying on Saturday afternoon and later
grabbed the second transfer spot through his loaded
heat race. With one-lane track conditions the norm and
no track prep, the 100-lap DTWC was no different and
provided virtually no passing through the field. Steve
started eighth on the grid and was solidly inside of
the top ten when he pulled up lame on the top side of
the track. The Richmond, Indiana native retired from
the crown jewel event in the twenty-second position.
Complete results from the DTWC can be viewed online

OCTOBER
10, 2011
The
Steve Casebolt Racing team followed the Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series trail south to the state of Georgia
on October 8-9 for a pair of $10,000 to win events.
On Saturday night, the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock,
Georgia played host to the annual 'Dixie Shootout.'
Steve Casebolt qualified well at the Atlanta area venue
and later finished a strong second in his heat race.
After rolling off seventh on the grid in the 50-lap
feature event, Steve made his presence known in front
of the SPEED Channel cameras. He vaulted all the way
up to second and battled leader Scott Bloomquist for
the point. Unfortunately, as his luck as gone all season,
Steve suffered a broken axle, which caused him to retire
on lap 37 in the twenty-first position.
On Sunday, the action traveled up I-75 to the Rome
Speedway in Rome, Georgia for the $10,000 to win 'Rome
Showdown.' Steve once again ran second in his loaded
heat race, which allowed him to start from the outside
of the fourth row in the 50-lapper.' More problems would
strike the Richmond, Indiana native in the A-Main at
Rome and Steve retired from the race in the twenty-third
spot. Complete results from doubleheader weekend can
be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com. |

3, 2011
Steve
Casebolt and his #c9 Dirt Late Model team trekked to
the historic Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa from
September 29-October 1 for the 8th Annual 'Lucas Oil
Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' The crown jewel extravaganza
kicked off with a pair of $7,000 to win prelims on Thursday
and Friday at the 1/2-mile facility. Steve was involved
in an early heat race wreck on Thursday night at Knoxville
and did not transfer into the 25-lap feature event.
On Friday evening, Steve finished seventh in his loaded
heat race and twenty-first in the B-Main, which unfortunately
kept him out of the $7,000 to win semifeature. Instead
of starting in the C-Main on Saturday, the Richmond,
Indiana native opted to head home early and did not
stay around for the completion of the $40,000 to win
'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' View complete
results from Knoxville by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com. |
