Steve Casebolt Advances into $10k North/South Shootout

Richmond, Indiana ace Steve Casebolt found himself in the pit area at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on August 8-11 for a huge stretch of racing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. While Steve unfortunately missed out on transferring into the $12,000 to win 'Ralph Latham Memorial' and the $50,000 to win 'North/South 100,' Steve was able to earn a coveted starting position into Thursday's annual 'North/South Shootout.' After running third in his stacked heat race, Steve rolled off from the outside of the eighth row in the 50-lap main event, which boasted a $10,000 payday. Casebolt Steers #c9 to Top Ten Effort in Hall of Fame Classic

Steve Casebolt and his #c9 team dropped into the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday, August 4 for the annual running of the 'Hall of Fame Classic.' The MARS Racing Series rolled into the 1/4-mile oval to preside over the $10,000 to win special. Steve placed sixth in his heat race, but won his consolation race to advance into the 50-lap feature event. After starting the 50-lap main event from the outside of the eighth row, Steve was able to steer past eight competitors during the feature distance on his way to a solid eighth place outing. Steve Casebolt Strong in Tripleheader Weekend in OH and IN

The c9 Enterprises team was extremely busy from July 26-28 in a trio of special events at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio, Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio, and Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. On Thursday night in a $3,000 to win Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week program at Atomic, Steve Casebolt timed in second fastest overall during qualifying and ran second in the fast dash. Steve was then running second early in the 40-lap feature until a flat right rear tire on lap seven dropped the Richmond, Indiana ace to a disappointing twenty-first place showing.

In a similar $3,000 to win Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week showdown on Friday evening at Moler, Steve clicked off the seventh quickest lap during time trials, ran second in his heat race, and later climbed to third in the 40-lapper behind only victor R.J. Conley and runner-up Tim Dohm. At Brownstown in the unsanctioned 'Paul Crockett Memorial' on Saturday, Steve placed fifth in heat race action before passing ten competitors during the $2,500 to win headliner to cross the finish line fourth behind only race winner Devin Gilpin, David Webb, and Zak Blackwood. Casebolt Steers to Seventh in Bedford's Billy Winn Classic

Steve Casebolt and the c9 Enterprises team ventured east on July 13-14 to enter a pair of special events in the states of Pennsylvania and Virginia. On Friday night at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania, Steve ran fifth in his loaded heat race prior to picking off eleven competitors during the $8,200 to win main event to claim a solid seventh place showing in the annual 'Billy Winn Classic.' At the picturesque Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia on Saturday evening, a $10,000 top prize was on the line in the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series opener. Steve placed second in heat race action and was running inside of the top five in the 53-lap headliner. Unfortunately, a lapped car in front of him laid down fluid on the track after blowing a motor, which sent Steve hard into the wall and dropped him to a disappointing twenty-seventh place effort. A last minute trip to Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana greeted the #c9 team on Saturday night, July 7. The Jackson County Fairgrounds oval played host to the annual 'Born Free 40,' which was sanctioned by the MARS Racing Series and boasted a $5,000 paycheck. Steve Casebolt posted the fourth quickest time overall during the qualifying session before running second in heat race action. After rolling off from the outside of the second row in the 40-lap main event, Steve ran amongst the top five throughout the distance and eventually grabbed a strong fourth place effort behind only victor Kent Robinson, Devin Gilpin, and Tanner English! Steve Casebolt entered one lone event over the weekend, as he found himself at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia on Friday evening, June 29. The United Late Model Series (ULMS) presided over a $7,000 to win throwdown last night at "The Bullring" as part of the 'Mega 100' weekend. Steve ran fifth in his heat race to earn a starting position in the 50-lap feature event. The Richmond, Indiana native unfortunately was not able to move forward in the A-Main and wound up placing eighteenth in the final finishing order. Steve Casebolt Takes Lead Briefly in Florence Iron-Man Show

Following a rain-out on Friday night at Ponderosa (KY) Speedway, Steve Casebolt and his #c9 team traveled to Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday evening, June 23. The Schaeffer's Oil Iron-Man Championship Series came to town to preside over a $5,000 to win shootout. Steve ran third in heat race action and later started the 50-lap feature event from the outside of the fourth row. The Richmond, Indiana ace then drove towards the front and passed leader Jason Jameson briefly around the halfway mark in the race. While trying to track Jameson back down for the point, he was thrown a slidejob by a lapped car that he had just passed and Steve wound up hitting the concrete wall. He retired from the race with damage and was relegated to a disappointing fifteenth place performance. Steve Casebolt and his #c9 team invaded Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday evening, June 16 for the annual running of the 'Boone Coleman Gator 50.' The unsanctioned Super Late Model special paid $5,000 to the winner. Steve stopped the clock sixth fastest during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his stacked heat race. Steve Casebolt Competes in Dream XXIV at Eldora Speedway

One of the sport's richest events was held from June 7-9 at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, as 78 competitors converged at the 1/2-mile speedplant to do battle in 'Dream XXIV.' Following a washout on Thursday night, both preliminary shows were held on Friday. In the $5,000 to win prelim during the afternoon, Steve Casebolt placed seventh in his stacked heat race, third in his B-Main, and twenty-fourth in the 25-lap sprint. In the $10,000 to win prelim later that evening, Steve unfortunately failed to transfer into the 25-lapper after finishing seventh in both his heat race and his B-Main. On Saturday in the finale, Steve was running strong in his loaded heat race before blowing out his right rear tire, which led to an eighth place effort and kept him of the 100-lap, $100,000 to win headliner. The #c9 team rolled into Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan on Wednesday, June 6 for a special mid-week American Ethanol Late Model Tour clash. The 'Merritt Showdown' boasted a $5,000 winner's check and 27 competitors piled into the pit area. Current series point leader Steve Casebolt ran fifth in his heat race during preliminary action and later rolled off from the inside of the seventh row in the 40-lap feature event. Steve Casebolt Takes Over Ethanol Point Lead in Michigan!

Steve Casebolt and his #c9 team invaded I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan, Thunderbird Raceway in Muskegon, Michigan, and Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio over the Memorial Day holiday weekend (May 25-27). On Friday night in a $4,000 to win American Ethanol Late Model Tour show at I-96, Steve won his heat race and was up to second in the 40-lap feature event when a broken wheel helped relegate the Richmond, Indiana pilot to an eighth place effort. In a similar $4,000 to win AELMT program on Saturday evening at Thunderbird, Steve once again took the win in his heat race prior to advancing to fifth in the 40-lapper to finish behind only victor Eric Spangler, David Mielke, Rich Bell, and Nick Kurtz. With the strong run, Steve now finds himself on top of the American Ethanol Late Model Tour point standings!

The three-race weekend then concluded on Sunday with the annual running of the 'Johnny Appleseed Classic' at the famed Eldora Speedway. The American Late Model Series (ALMS) presided over the $3,000 to win special, which served as the final tune-up for the upcoming 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' Steve laid down the fastest lap in his group during qualifying, but a wheel full of mud caused him to finish eighth in his loaded heat race. After scoring a victory in the B-Main, Steve drove past ten competitors during the 25-lap sprint to leave the "Big E" with a sixth place performance. Casebolt Continues Strong Start to Season; Wins at Attica!

Continuing a strong start to his 2018 campaign, Steve Casebolt recorded the third win of his season on Friday night, May 11 at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio! Steve won his heat race in preliminary action and later drew the pole position in the American Ethanol Late Model Tour headliner. He then led each and every one of the forty circuits in the A-Main to claim the $4,000 winner's check ahead of Matt Miller, Rusty Schlenk, Logan Arntz, and Brandon Thirlby.
