Steve
Casebolt Finishes
16th at the Dirt Track World Championship

RICHMOND,
IN (October 24, 2006) -
Steve Casebolt and the Dale Beitler Enterprises, Reliable
Painting, Sunoco Race Fuels, Cornett Race Engines, Rocket
Chassis traveled to Chillicothe Ohio this past weekend and
competed in the 26th annual Dirt Track World Championship at
KC Raceway. KC Raceway is considered one of Steve’s favorite
tracks and was eager to compete in the mega event that drew
145 cars from 16 different states. Steve who resides in
Richmond IN would be impressive in qualifying laying down
the second fastest lap out of the 145 drivers in spite of a
late draw in qualifying when most cars slow down
considerably.
Steve would start 6th in his heat race and immediately moved
to the front racing for the lead. While racing for the lead
Weaver and Tony Stewart collided and Steve avoided the
mishap and went on to win the 2nd heat race to earn a fifth
starting position for the 100-lap $50,000 to win feature
event. At the start of the feature Steve would maintain in
the top five with the front runners in spite of a problem
with his brakes. Steve would have to change his driving
style to compensate for his lack of brakes using the cushion
on the top of the track in a wide open sling it sideways
move to maneuver his machine around the racy track. Steve
would be in contention for the win until lap 89 when
mechanical failure finally ended his great run. Steve was
recorded with a 16th place finish in the final run down.
“Man we had a great car and it’s just a shame we didn’t get
the results to show it. I had to really throw the car around
once I lost brakes early in the race. I was bouncing off the
cushion and it finally broke something in the suspension
that caused us to fall out. I want thank Dale Beitler for
this great opportunity to drive his cars. I hope we can
build this into a long relationship together”, stated Steve.
Steve and the Beitler Enterprises Racing Team will travel to
Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City Kentucky this
weekend October 27-28th and compete in the final two events
for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Steve who is
currently 6th in the series point’s standings has clinched
the 2006 Rookie of the Year Award for the Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series. Steve has been consistent all year long
on the series and beat out fellow competitors Michael
England and Brady Smith for the top honors in the Rookie of
the Year.
