Steve
Casebolt and Team Finish Second at
Brownstown
and Mechanicsburg Over the Weekend

RICHMOND,
IN (April 4, 2007) - Steve Casebolt, the 2006 Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series Rookie of the Year, competed at
Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown IN and Williams Grove
Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA over the weekend earning two
solid second place finishes for the Beitler Enterprises
Team.
Friday
night at Williams Grove Speedway Steve started 5th in his
qualifying heat and quickly drove to the front capturing
the heat win. Steve started 8th in A-Main via the re-draw
for the top finishers from the heats. Driving the Reliable
Painting, Rocket Chassis with Cornett power, Steve
advanced from his 8th starting position and was in second
place early in the race. Steve would challenge race leader
Jason Covert but was unable to make the pass for the lead
and finished second at the checkers.
"I'm very pleased with the way the car felt. Once we
got into second race leader Jason Covert was a straight
away from me. We ran him down right before a caution came
out but I just couldn't get a good run on him to
pass." stated Steve.
The following night the Beitler Enterprises team traveled
nine hours to the historic Brownstown Speedway in
Brownstown, Indiana. The event was sanctioned by the Lucas
Oil Late Model Dirt Series and drew 72 entries for the
75-lap A-main which paid $10,000 to win. Steve time
trialed third quick and won his qualifying heat race.
During the A-main Steve fell back as far as fifth place
before he started picking off positions back toward the
front. Casebolt was able to race back to second place
behind race leader and eventual winner Billy Moyer. The
track began to take rubber and became very hard to pass in
the late stages of the race as Steve stayed glued to
Moyer's rear bumper waiting for a slip to make a pass for
the lead. But the veteran Moyer held his line and beat
Steve to the checkers for the win. Steve finished a solid
second place in a stout field of competitors.
"I
was just pacing myself and took positions as they opened
up. Moyer was the race leader and I think we were as good
as he was, but once the track locked down all we could do
is stay in line to finish out the race second. It was a
good finish for us and we gained a lot of points in the
Lucas Series points standings. I'm really happy for the
team, and this weekend's performances are in part due the
great crew we have helping us. We're going to get a big
win soon", stated Steve.
On Sunday, the team traveled to Challenger Raceway in
Indiana, PA looking to compete in their third event of the
weekend. The event was called for rain early Sunday
morning and the team traveled back to the shop in West
Friendship, MD.
At
this time Steve and the Beitler Enterprises Team are
unsure where they will race this coming weekend. Weather
and travel distance will play a big part in their decision
on where to race this weekend. Keep checking Steve's
