Steve Casebolt Makes his “Dream” Come True Winning $100,000 at Eldora Speedway

RICHMOND, IN (June 11, 2007) - Steve Casebolt and the Beitler Enterprises Team made their dreams a reality by winning the largest payout in dirt late model racing this past weekend. The team won Eldora's "Dream 100" and the $100,000 first place prize money. The 2006 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Rookie of the Year beat a stellar field of competitors at the event. Beating the 2006 Dream 100 winner Scott Bloomquist on the last restart was one of the most rewarding events to the young Indiana driver.

"It's always a great accomplishment to beat Bloomquist, especially here, where he has so much success and experience," stated Casebolt. "Last week we won (the Ralph Latham Memorial, Lucas Oil Series event) at Florence (Ky.) and I drove by Bloomquist and beat him, but he ended up finishing fifth so it wasn't quite as good of a feeling. Everybody kind of measures themselves by how good Bloomquist is that night, and I think everybody saw tonight that we had the best car," Steve went on to say.

Steve started the night out by winning the second heat race earning the 5th starting position for the 100-lap feature event. Steve quickly moved to the front and was in second place by lap 10 and took the lead from Scott James on lap 21. Steve built sizable leads throughout the event, as much as a full straightaway at times before Bloomquist made his charge to the front. With two laps to go Bloomquist was within three car lengths when the caution came out. Everyone knew the restart would be the key and Casebolt held his line and turned up the wick pulling out to a ten car length advantage to win the $100,000 first place prize.

"We haven't really been in the spotlight that much this year, but there's been several nights that we thought if we just had done this or that different, we had a good shot at beating these guys," said Casebolt, "I sort of felt we had arrived after winning at Florence last week on the Lucas Oil Series . To win that race I beat some of the guys here tonight, so I felt, if I can win that race, I can win the Dream next weekend. We did it tonight, and it's a huge deal for us. I have to really thank Dale Beilter, my car owner for giving me this opportunity to drive his cars.

"I have to thank Robby Allen for his help and my entire crew for their preparation of these cars every week and especially tonight giving me a great car to drive. I want to also thank Sunoco Race Fuels, Russ Bradford and Tim McWhorter for all their support and all my sponsors that have supported us this year. It's just a great feeling to win a big event like this for my car owner and sponsors", stated Steve.

Steve and the team will head south this coming weekend and compete on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at three events. On Thursday Night, June 14th the team will head to the Duck River Speedway in Wheel TN for a $7,000 to win feature event. The next night Steve will compete at the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA on Friday, June 15th in a $7,000 to win show. Steve will conclude the weekend at Talladega Short Track in Talladega, AL for a $10,000 to win event on Saturday. The Talladega event on Saturday, June 16th will be taped by SPEED Channel and will be shown on a date and time to be announced in the future.
