Casebolt and team finish 10th at KC Raceway,
3rd in Lucas Oil Points
RICHMOND,
IN
(April 16, 2008) - On
a very cold night in Chillicothe, OH Steve Casebolt took his Dixie
Chopper/Fatheadz.com racecar to a somewhat disappointing 10th
place finish. “Although we did get a top ten out of the race at KC it
wasn’t the type of run we like to have”.
“We had a total of 3 flat tires throughout the night due to
track conditions so I feel fortunate that we even finished the race
considering the amount of attrition in the event,” stated Steve.
Although
the night dealt the team some bad cards, Steve managed to get closer
to the point lead. Steve
is now only 50 points out of the lead in the championship standings,
down from 90 last week. “You
are always going to have bad nights in any season long campaign, and
I think what we did this weekend is the kind of thing you have to do
to be in contention to win the championship.” “To still get a
top ten out of a night when you had 3 flat tires is what it takes to
be in the hunt for the championship.”
Steve
and team are still undecided as to where next week’s travels will
take them. With a
weekend off from point racing the weather will play a key role in
where they will go to race. Options
include the $50,000 to win Colossal in Charlotte, NC or a pair of
races in Ohio that would include a race at Eldora Speedway where
Steve picked up the $100,000 Dream 100 last year.
